NSF Future Core grants will now also fund CS research. Awards are for up to $1M and four years. 

Studies have shown that childhood STEM education helps learners develop the knowledge and skills needed to explore more abstract concepts in their elementary years (Geary et al., 2013; Locuniak & Jordan, 2008). This HHS call for input expires August 13, 2025.

This compelling Horizons video created by Jobs for the Future features the work of AI Owl, an innovative education and workforce training program. They're latest project - supporting Hocking College students as they develop AI solutions for zookeepers.

We're excited to spread the news that Central Virginia Community College was awarded $1.5M through a Strengthening Community Colleges grant.  Trivium Consulting collaborated with the Community Funding Accelerator in the proposal development, project management, budget creation, and supporting the creation of supplemental documents--helping launch a critically important workforce training program in Advanced Manufacturing.

These grants fund physical and natural sciences, technology, engineering, social sciences, and mathematics disciplines, topics, or issues (including environmental science education or stewardship). They will support learners' and educators' capacity-building. It is open to nonprofit, for-profit, and academic institutions. No cost-sharing requirement. Rolling deadlines until June 30, 2026.

The MDA STEM Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology (BEST) Robotics Grants are available to  official Local Competition Hubs, provide financial support for official Local Competition Hubs to upgrade their robotics kits. The opportunity closes August 20, 2025.

Advocates in Action is a national conference hosted by the American Association of Community Colleges that provides face-to-face opportunities for community college administrators to hear from and meet with federal government officials and senior staff. STEM research and advancement communities were hopeful on July 10th, when a Senate subcommittee proposed only a small cut to next year’s NSF funding, rather than the $5B cut requested from the White House. They also proposed increasing funding to the National Weather Service and NASA.

The Joint Associations Group (JAG) has revealed the outcome of its months-long work planning an overhaul of indirect costs for research projects. The Fiscal Accountability in Research, or FAIR, model emerged from the work of several higher education national associations, partially in response to the possibility of an across the board limit of 15%.
